Message Replied To ========== State of the Union message. We have just hired a new head coach who appears to have the capability to bring us back to our former status as a dominant force in the SEC. I am amazed that he took the job. Usually this is one of the best jobs in the country. However due to absolutely horrible decisions by the AD to hire Muschamps, the program has regressed to the 1970's level. Due to sucking cash from football the football facilities have fallen behind the leaders of the SEC. We are facing the possibility of an awful recruiting year. Our assistant coaching staff is in disarray. Like it or not because of our AD we have become a second rate power. If we loose T Rob we will have an awful recruiting year. Based on history (Dickey) late 70's it will take us a minimum of 4 to 5 years to recover. Even in the best of coaching changes, the first recruiting year is a problem. With our academic requirements, we do not need any negative problems like facilities, etc. to make our job harder. I just hope that our AD will step up to the plate and do, with in reason. anything that McElwain thinks is necessary If not hello Vanderbilt and Kentucky ============================== Muschamp was a good hire that just didn't work out. Just like signing the #1 QB in the country was a huge recruiting victory, but he just didn't work out. We've all enjoyed the 2 Football National Championships and 2 Basketball National Championships our University has won in the last 10 years, no school in the country has come anywhere close to achieving what UF has in that timeframe. We've sure got a lot of spoiled, whiny Gator Fans... |
