Message Replied To ========== This "Conservatives need to change" mantra is crap Conservatives need to nominate someone who can eloquintly express conservative ideas. That is the issue. There is a broad net if they can get their message heard. For example, African American voters. My God, just look at what party dominates the major cities. A case can be easliy made that Liberal policies have kept a higher % of AA in poverty. The one thing that the conservative party needs to do is top trying to placate the sub-groups within it's own ranks. Focus on what needs the immediate attention. ==============================They preach free market capitalism. Yet they are the leaders of cronyism crack deals and corporate welfare. They preach fiscal responsibility. Yet they sign pledges that taxes can never be raised under any circumstance anywhere thereby guaranteeing rising debts and deficits. They preach America first. Then they are the first to flippantly choose military actions that bog us down elsewhere for decades. They preach personal responsibility and family values. Sheesh..... you could write a college textbook on what nonsense that has proven to be. They preach support the troops and then they were the ones who voted almost unanimously against S. 1982, the most comprehensive veterans bill in American history. When they rejected that bill is when I finally said #badword# them and the horse they rode in on. They are the greater - not the lesser - of the two evils. I am still a gun lovin, God fearin, football watchin, beer guzzlin, truck drivin, meat eatin, small independent business runnin, proud and free American man. But I will be voting straight line liberal Democrat for national candidates this go around and for the foreseeable future. I am not saying that I'd never vote conservative Republican again. But there's no eloquent way to state the totally illogical and ignorant. Which is all they seem to stand for today. What are the ideas?.... |
