CONTEXT NOTES: Discussing 52-20 with Hunter
We respect the trophy and waht it represents, not FSU. But let's take a look at that game in a historical perspective: Uf gave FSU the worst beating of a #1 ranked team in a bowl game in the history of college football. No one else in that position had ever been so thoroughly trashed as the Noles were that night. That's a pretty good accomplishment. We'll take it.
And it opened the way for more history. I beleive the Noles are also the only team in modern college football history to lsoe twice to the same team in the same calendar year. Not only that, they did it by losing to their in-state rival. And it cost them the national championship in both instances. That's too funny to be believed, but it's true.
FSU owned Spurrier? I guess a case could be made for that. He only won 38% of his games not counting ties vs the Noles. But if we're to use that logic then we should consider that FSU has won just over 39% of their games not counting ties vs the Gators. So what your statement also means is that UF owns FSU. How can you stand to pay such respect to us? Whatever the reason, thanks for the props you willingly give to the University of Florida for its dominance over FSU. We appreciate it.
