I made the right career decision.

It's the little things that make this job rewarding. They overcome the discipline problems and all the hours and weekends.

Today, my little Bulldawg student gave me a little gift box with a very nice message on top. When I opened the box it was a homemade craft where you melt plastic pellets into shapes and designs. The one she gave me was a blue square with an orange G in the middle of it. When I asked her if the G stood for Georgia, she said "No, it stands for Gators!" She also attached a magnet on the back. It is now proudly attached to my file cabinet.

Then later in the day she asked if she and another student could decorate my door and bulletin board for Halloween instead of playing games during study hall. I said sure, and she and the other girl ended up getting 7 other students to pitch in and the door and bulletin board look awesome! Even moreso because they got it all done in about 30 minutes. I am even more appreciative of this effort because this bulletin board has been the same for the past I don't know how many years. I inherited it in the condition and never could figure out what to do with it, so I left it and it looked boring.
