Our whole team got better little by little . We had many injuries that delayed some of the progress but the hearts were so big on this team that they overcame the tough times with grit and determination. But as they kept winning and winning something happened near the end of the season. They got healthy and simulatanously were learning and getting better. The defense learned how to deal with the loss of Marcus Thomas . The offense learned to better use the weapons they had at their disposal like Percy, CI , etc. The FSU game showed the defense was finally learning how to play championship ball without Marcus. The Arkansas game showed the offense was turning the corner at attacking the defense and using its playmakers.
The national title game saw everything come together as our team got healthy , got smarter at learning Urban's offense , our D continued its stellar play without Marcus. Thanks Steve Harris,Ray Mac and Joe Cohen . You picked things up when our DL looked like it could be in trouble. Our seniors kept this team strong during the hard times and the talent finally shined through late in the season with a healthier and smarter team. This team will go down as the hardest working team in UF history . Nothing was guaranteed and yet they persevered and became the NATIONAL CHAMPS!!
