are such an amazing phenomenon.  If you want to get a feel for what I am referring to, then take a look at Wayne's board.  What you will see will truly warm your heart and will give you an idea of just how powerful these things are.

For those of you who don't know what has happened, or aren't familiar with the person at the center of it...Jeremy Bosch was a 29 year old LSU fan who started posting with some of us back in the early days on Wayne's over 10 years ago.  He was a bright, articulate, sarcastic, argumentative, witty, antagonistic young man who many loved, many others didn't care for, but everyone respected as a force of nature.  He was one of the original characters that made Wayne's and indirectly the VS, what they are today.

Jeremy was the one who came up with the idea of personal icons, and Wayne took his idea and made it a reality.

Jeremy had no problem telling you what he thought of your opinion, and his board persona never really cared what you thought of him.  Via e-mail, he was always respectful and was always willing to work through whatever issue was on your mind.  He used to post on the VS quite a bit more in our early days, but my stricter policies didn't work well for him and he felt frustrated that he couldn't retaliate the way he preferred to over here, so he pretty much stopped posting on the VS.  My personal contact with him became limited, although we did talk quite a bit via e-mail a couple of months ago.

I always thought of him as our community little brother and had a soft spot for him.  It's what has made these past few days difficult.

As you likely know, Jeremy took his life the other night.  If nothing else, I am hopeful his legacy can be that of showing those of us who are parts of these communities that we are never alone and that we really do have more friends than we realize.  I hope all of you who read this post will grasp this.  You do have friends and we do care about you.

P.S.  On the day of Jeremy's funeral (looks like Thursday), Wayne will be shutting off all of the Mudduck boards' icons for the day.  A fitting tribute to the man who invented them.
