in the last 3 years' worth of reviews just how many plays were made by John L. Williams either running, catching or throwing the paving block for someone else?  I've been closely following my beloved Gators for about 30 years now and in that time, he easily ranks as one of the top 10 players in that era-which is a particularly remarkable thing to say about a player playing a position (Fullback) that is often an afterthought.

Also, these last 3 years' worth of reviews with the names I hadn't seen in quite some time brought back a lot of great memories and reminded me just how incredibly loaded we were in those years.  For example, in that 83 UF/AU game you highlighted above a whopping total of 54 players in that game went on to pro careers-27 players from each team.  That's an amazing assemblage of talent which highlights the rich bounty available in the state of Florida.....and further goes to demonstrate that:

1) we've been a major power a lot longer than our rivals and even some of our own fans would like to admit

and

2) we don't owe our success or position of prominence to any one man.
