"Best in the SEC" years are removed from walls of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium...coming from this perspective, but I think most marketing / publicity types would rather the references to probation years come off the walls of the stadium. It only brings up a conversation that is best avoided among recruits, players, etc. -- avoided in terms of paying homage.
In other words, it might be time to move past this. Yes, this reinforces that we didn't "officially" win the SEC until sometime in the 1990s -- but today's students and recruits were mere babies even when that first official title occurred.
We shouldn't forget what happened -- but the stadium tribute area, which now includes a Ring of Honor and two National Champion years -- is probably not the ideal place to continue the battle related to which penalties were / weren't deserved as a consequence of probation years two decades ago.
