Injuries happen, you know. Why just last year I saw where mike man developed a serious case of laryngitis. My decision doesn't have anything in any way whatsoever to do with the money. None whatsoever, but I sure am looking forward to getting off of scholarship and earning one of those professional sports contracts. Afterall, I've been here at UF for quite awhile. I am sure UF will be just fine without me" said the long time Gator mascot. Albert also added, "Being a mascot in the NFL is something I've always dreamed of and even though I may not actually get a chance to cheer professionally this is just something I've got to do." Albert, the University of Florida's oldest mascots believes he's leaving Florida's cheering in good hands pointing to that silly inflatable Gator that appears at home basketball games. In related news, Alberta reportedly distressed over Albert's decision is reconsidering her decision to stay at UF for her senior season. If Alberta goes, she said she intends "to take all the orange and blue pom poms with her but may leave the sticky cloth Gators that you put on your license plate." Coach Zook was unavailable for comment but is rumored to have received permission to speak with UGA the bulldog as a possible replacement. At issue, is UGA's demand to have the option to get out of the contract if he thinks the Bulldogs are having a better year on the football field. Also at issue is his lawyer, also a Georgia graduate, inability to read the contract. It is also rumored that the 3 male cheerleaders, all of whom are underclassman, may also leave early to begin their professional lives which would leave the cheerleading squad with no one to serve as the base of the pyramid next season. "Well, gee if Albert's going pro it must be a good idea and I'd just hate to be left out."is how Mitch McGriff explain why he's leaning towards leaving. Jeremy Folely urges fans not to panic. "Well, University of Florida has been the first in a lot of areas before so we're actually pretty proud to be the first major University to lose its mascots, cheerleaders, pom poms and little gator stickers to the pros. Oh yeah, that's right the cloth Gator stickers are staying. Anyhow, we encourage all our students to do what's best for them and why should anybody think that staying here could possibly be in their best interest. Naah, I'm not worried. Heck, I'm sure somebody out there's willing to take our scholarships."
