All week long all I ever heard was him whining about the game being played in Jacksonville, it wasn't fair, it should be home and home, it should be Jax-Atlanta....such discussion angers me because alll around us in many sports, we are losing "tradition". Maybe this victory will shut those whiners up, but I doubt it. I sure don't remember UGa. fans wanting to move the venue in the 60's, 70's, and 80's when they were kicking our a$$es on a near-regular basis.
I was only a lowly HS ball-coach, but I have never in all my years seen a team rush onto the field, purposely and orchestrated/encouraged by the HBC, to embarrass their opponent and to incite their own fan base.
I don't care what Richt said on his TV show, he embarrassed himself, his program, the game, and the sport of football....and, he spit on what past players and coaches of this game, for 85 years, had worked so hard to build.
But in today's world, he'll be seen as the conquering hero by ESPN and the youth of today will suffer even more by such a cheap, shameless exploit.
And don't even get me started on Wondy-Pierre and his crap summersault and those like him that do such on a regular basis. Talk about classless!!!!!!! Come on Gators, you can't have it both ways....such actions are self-serving and hurtful to the TEAM.
If the NCAA doesn't come down on such an act (summersaulting into the endzone when un-abaited by a defender) this January at their rules meeting, I'll be sadly disappointed. Such acts take away, bit by bit, the integrity of the game we all love so much and sends a horrible message to youth-football players all over the countr....the message that getting on "SportsCenter" is somehow more important that winning/losing with class.
What do I know....i'm just some old fart who feels the game he loves so much and worked so hard to build for something his players could use as a vehicle to better themselves in this world, has passed him by.
