I think that was pretty much a new style, modern era a$$ whooping.

Congrats to the Gators and its fans for a total, across the board, end to end, dominating victory. There's no other way to say it than we lost to a superior team.

But for about 4 hours last night, it was an excellent trip. A stop at the Gainesville Ale House to meet up with some old friends in from Chicago. Off to Mothers Pub (formerly The Shamrock) to be with the kids and some of their roommates and watch the basketball game. Tailgating with a large group of good friends. Listening to Bama-Auburn on the ride home. Your fans were extremely well behaved, bordering on gracious (it hasn't always been so and I know the vice is versa, but I'll always go out of my way to try to make you feel welcome in Tallahassee). The worst I heard was "Chief Osceola goes both ways" and they didn't seem to know how to respond to "It would take a Gator to know". All in good fun.

It's a cold and dreary morning in Tallahassee. It's never easy losing to your biggest rival; even worse getting killed by them. The message boards are starting to call for changes at the top. The Seminole Nation is uneasy. We've all known that Bobby hasn't done much coaching lately (or, perhaps worse, has screwed things up when he actually has taken an active hand). The "A Team" that was brought in to rectify Jeffie's many wrongs made some improvement, but we all expected more. It's unfair to expect Jimbo and Trickett to work miracles in one year - they don't even have their own personnel in place yet, but one has to wonder if Jimbo will be here next year. Why should he stay? We're at least a year away from having a real quarterback (who is, at this time, unidentified - Ponder? E.J. Manuel?). There is currently only 1 commitment on the offensive line, a 42nd ranked 3-star kid who may be good, but won't be the salvation of the team's greatest weakness. And where was the defense? I certainly didn't expect Florida to hang 45 on us. In many ways, it's harder being 7 - 5 than it would be to be 2 - 9. We can continue to delude ourselves that our string of winning seasons and bowl appearances extends on, but that simply allows us to avoid making the hard changes. We're not as good as we ought to be; we're not as good as we want to be; but the program seems to be mired in a slowly downward drift of mediocrity. We can't fire him and we can't keep him. The glory days are coming with a price and the piper will be paid.

Thank God Tebow wasn't hurt in the game. After Gino Hayes stupid comments, even a true accident to Tebow would have resulted in more "FSU Thugs" comments. He could have said "We're going to take his Heisman away", gotten the same reaction, and not have people thinking he was threatening to injure another. Having made the comments, it was nice of you to show up, Gino.

Please, give Teabow the Heisman and let him go pro. He'll have accomplished all he can at UF. Time to try another level. And take Percy with you. You can't blame a man for wishing.

Do you get the feeling that the best teams in America have played themselves out of the BCS picture? There is no doubt in my mind that LSU and Florida would beat Kansas, Missouri, West Virginia, Ohio State, or whomever else in a national championship game. Tennessee and Georgia would be favored in any of those games. Auburn and Arkansas would be equal to any of the top 5.

Congrats again, Gators (although it really is pretty meaningless now. We're a basketball school).
