CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT if the majority of economists are right about Obama and his plan works? What will you do if he actually is an effective leader and brings times of peace and prosperity to our country? Hey, IF he wins ... he may very well fall on his a$$ ... or be another con-man who had many of us fooled. But what if? What if he turns out to be a great president? I won't make an assumption about you, but so many GOP friends of mine will hate on Obama no matter. These are people who view W as a better president than Clinton. It's one big "us v. them" to so many Americans. It exists on both sides. Hell, there are democrats who hated Ronnie's tenure. There's always room for criticism. There's always a reason to complain. But what if Obama does a very good job. What if our economy turns around and in two years we are not at war with any nation and things are looking up for the U.S. around the glob? I can tell you what my GOP buddies will be doing ... they will be spewing the idiotic ramblings of Rush and Hannity. They will hold onto the foolish idea that somehow Obama just was in the right place at the right time. If we've learned anything over the last 8 years (and not all of us have) ... it's that it DOES matter who serves as POTUS. This not a football game. It's not a matter of our team v. your team. It's about saving our economy. It's about improving the quality and access to education. It's about protecting our troops and using them only when we absolutely need to. It's about doing the right thing more often than not. It's about responding quickly and effectively to national tragedies. It's about restoring the way America is viewed around the globe. It's about making life better for Americans, not worse. If you believe that McCain can meet those needs better than Obama, fine. I'll not challenge your opinion. But I do ask that we all (myself included) try to be somewhat objective in regards to assessing the performance of the next president. Because the political talk show hosts on both sides of the "v" will not do this. They will continue to play their agenda and play Americans for fools. |
