years ago when they had a cocktail party for alumni at the SEC meetings, he would be there. Most of the coaches in football and basketball were there except for Spurrier and Donovan. But the alumni associations from the schools would hand stuff out. It was always a fun night. I'm sure the coaches didn't want to be there but they were pretty good about it and there really wasn't much attendance. So this one night Fulmer was standing there and asked if I had any Vol stuff and I didn't so he gave me a U of Tennessee pencil. About 30 minutes later he asked me if anyone else had given me anything good and I said that coach Sherrill had given me a beer, actually I was having my second from coach Sherrill. He thought for a second and said, here, have another pencil. I told him no thanks and he said I didn't look much like a pencil man.
