CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT Let's give some of the fans from others schools a chance to tell us how great we are.
Seriously, I normally try to keep things in perspective but I think the cat is out of the bad on this one. There are so many fans, pundits, etc saying how great the Gators are, maybe we just go with it. It is not going to affect how the team plays on Saturday -- the only thing that it is going to affect is, how bad it is going to feel should we lose a game.
Is there really such a thing as football karma? Do the football God(s) really exist? I was sure that the USC game was going to be close and I was all worried about Georgia, but this team went through them like butter. Now I know that we have not blown anyone out on the road, but all we have to do is win this game by one point and we all know that we have a better team than FSU. Heck, we all know we have the best team in the nation. There, I said it, but it is true.
We don't have any weak spots that we have to work around like other teams. Quarterback? Not hardly. Wide receiver? We have Percy and Harvin. Running back? Rainey, Demps, Moody, and did I mention Harvin?
Defense? Very good, not great, but no areas of concern. Maybe with the injuries at DT, a little, but defensive end, linebacker, and secondary have been playing extremely well.
Special teams? Yes we have special teams. Coaching? Got that too. No Mr. Nice guy like Mark Richt. We got a guy who speaks softly, carries a big stick, and is not afraid to call a timeout when not needed.
So Karma be darned, and I spit in the face of the football Gods, at least when their backs are turned. I say, for once, lets just project our inner selves and let out the obnoxious Gator fan within. Let the chips fall where they may, this is either our year or it is not, and I don't think what we say on this board is going to make any difference. Check with me Saturday night. If we lose, you can blame it all on me and we will know better next year.
