"A great email from a Dawg..." |

CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT ... who also happens to be married to my niece, who also happens to be a nole... in any case, I share the following; ---------------------------------------------- Guys,
This is not an e-mail forward. This is some self prescribed therapy to deal w/ the Gators uber-prosperity . I have to get some things off my chest to move on and accept some things that aren't very pleasant for me. If you're getting this e-mail, it means you are one of the Gator fans who are considered rationale, well-informed , and a friend.
In the case of you, Uncle Eddie, you're a Gator fan who's family, which is at least as strong as the 3 traits I mention above, even if only two of the three apply to you personally :-)
Things I saw on Sat. pm:
I saw an extremely determined, well coached, and physical Alabama team who probably could have beaten anyone else in the United States that night. Always in position on d/ tough on offense/ intense and in position on special teams. In a loss, they impressed the hell out of me. By being in position and being physical tacklers in the open field, they did the best job I've seen this season of addressing Florida's ridiculously fast skill players. That was a very very good Bama Team.
I saw an SEC championship game that for 3 quarters was the most competitive one I can remember being played in the last 10 years. I was looking forward to the game and the quality of the game not disappoint even if the outcome did.
In the 4th quarter when it really counted, I saw Florida absolutely take control of an, up to that point, very competitive and hard fought football game. They did not take control by a little bit, they didn't do it on just one side of the ball, they completed siezed the whole damn deal. Every aspect. I was very impressed and, candidly, very jealous of the product that UF had out on the field.
I saw the Gators D dig deep and man up after being on the field for a while and watching Bama churn out a couple of long drives.
I saw Tim Tebow basically put the team on his back and on his arm and lead the Gators the entire game, making huge plays when he had to. Most impressive was his ability to hit the long ball on downs and distance where Bama should have been able to stop it. Bama was in position and Tebow just put it on the money and UF receivers made the plays. I heard Obama was going to appoint Tim Tebow as his College Football Czar and leave it to him and him alone to sort out the ongoing BCS vs. a playoff controversy.
I saw the Gators really not miss Percy Harvin???? How can that even be?
Basically, I saw a performance that even a hardcore Bulldog fan has to admit was one for the ages. UF has to be pretty damn convincing to make me sound like Gary Danielson.
I have not seen the line for the Orange Bowl yet. I did not even watch the BCS selection show this thing has bothered me so badly. For completely selfish reasons I do not want Florida to win at all. For completely realistic reasons I fully expect that they will wipe the field with Oklahoma...I'd say line comes out w/ Florida -10 and they cover going away . Congrats Gators. I believe a N.C. is next for you all. I will be watching the Citrus Bowl. Dammit.

J-VILLE GATOR 11/16/2008 - 10:12 a.m. Imagine how you will feel, when Tebow, Spikes and Harvin pull an '04;"We're all back" * Crazy Eddie 11/16/2008 - 10:29 a.m. If that happens, I will sport a Crazy Eddie icon for 6 weeks. * J-VILLE GATOR 11/16/2008 - 10:31 a.m If that happens, we can ALL sport Crazy Eddie icons! * BabySister 11/16/2008 - 10:37 a.m
