"Lane is like that annoying guy in any office..." |
|
CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT Tennessee fans have to spend this off-season defending his character instead of really talking about football. Of course, in the long-run that does not matter, but it makes you pause. The guy obviously, and this is apparently obvious to everyone outside of Knoxville, does not really think highly of Tennessee, it's traditions nor it's fans. The dude would rather make himself the center of attention, by any means necessary, to prove to the rest of the nation how important and special he is. Lane, the special snowflake. I do not think he is ever content until everyone is talking about him. Sure, he gives lip-service to the fact that Tennessee needs to have national exposure again. Btw, LOL on that. Tennessee has a National Championship in the past 11 years. That is one more than nationally-recognized powerhouses Alabama or Notre Dame. That ties them with Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida State, and Ohio State. Their game with UCLA last year was nationally televised in prime time, which is exceptional considering most teams are not afforded that luxury. They were 5 minutes away from an SEC Championship in 2007. It's about time his fans recognize that he's not trying to boost the reputation of Tennessee, but of himself. As for his tactics. He is like that annoying guy in any office who nitpicks any of the benign traditions, desperately trying to force any influence to justify his own existence. You know, the guys who feels that the 'politics' around the office are more important than the actual work. At my old job, we stopped buying donuts for the break room every morning because someone was "concerned" that it would make it difficult for those who were on diets. Under what context does someone bring that up to the boss? I would love to be a fly on the wall during that conversation. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You "won". Jesus Lane is like that self-important jerk. |
