"Isn't it what you dreamed of as a kid?"

CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN:
END OF CONTEXT

Bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth (or seventh in this case); two outs; your team down three runs.  You're at bat.  The only thing missing was a full count.

I've been a Gator all my life and have witnessed some very satisfying sports moments.  I also have three daughters and sat through many more events at the high school and club levels (mostly soccer), rejoicing with them in the highs and comforting them in the lows.  Watching the softball game last night with my youngest daughter  (a recent UF grad) may have been my best moment in Gator sports, and that's saying something.  I think it was a blend of the utter improbability of the grand slam, the absolute confidence Bama must have felt in having the game in hand then having their hearts ripped out, and the fact that it was a bunch of girls who reminded me so much of my daughters.  The looks of absolute joy on the girls' faces was priceless, as were the looks of disbelief and devestation on the faces of the Bama players.  In football I would have laughed heartlessly at Bama players in the same situation, in fact, probably in any men's sport, but with the Lady Tide (is that right?) it was different - maybe because they are girls, but more likely because of my girls.

Whatever happens this week against Washington I have yet another cherished Gator memory and I am so happy for Ali Gardiner and the rest of the team.  They have had an incredible two-year run and I am very proud each one of them chose to wear the orange and blue.

And for the record, I might have laughed at the Lady Dawgs if it had been them instead of the Tide.
