CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT the US team lost one of its forwards for at least a year (if not his career) in a fatal car accident less than 48 hours ago, they then lost their top defenseman to a knee injury late in the match, they came back from 2 goals down against a team that needed to win to make the World Cup, they scored while playing down a man with about 15 seconds left in the match to secure the draw, their opponents were engaging in shameless time-wasting tactics, and the draw gave us the top spot in our region for world cup qualifying. If you don't like soccer or care about one of our national teams overcoming such a difficult 48 hours with a last-second goal to win the CONCACAF region, keep it to yourself. Several sports have ties. Why do so many people feel the need to put down a sport that the rest of the world loves? So what if you don't understand it or enjoy it? Let it go. It's as though American football fans have some sort of inferiority complex that requires them to stomp their feet and put soccer down, as though you've discovered the world's conspiracy to embrace a boring sport just to insult Americans and their clearly superior sports. |
