.....A very dear friend of mine and a Great Gator died earlier this year of Leukemia.  He told me a month before his passing that on one of his many 4 or 5 week long Chemo sessions in the isolation ward of Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville he became good friends with one of the nurses.  She knew he was a huge Gator fan and mentioned that she was a good friend of the Tebow family.  My friend told her that he would love to have his special Gator football autographed by Timmy.  She told him to have his wife bring it in and she would see what she could do.  He went on to tell me that he was discharged about a week later and was so glad to be home he had forgotten all about the football.

Several days later the doorbell rang and it was Bob Tebow standing on the porch with the football, now autographed by Tim, under his arm.  Not only did Tim autograph the ball his dad delivered it in person.  Bob came inside and talked to my friend for over an hour about their shared love for the Gators and about life, faith and dying.   My friend was Jewish but told me Bob Tebow's ministry had a special impact on his life.  He died about two months later and I will miss him for the rest of my life.  I will never forget what Bob Tebow did.  If I ever meet Bob or Timmy I will tell them how much that wonderful gesture toward a total stranger meant to me and a lot of other folks I have told about it.  I hope now that each of you are counted in that group.  God Bless a special family of Gators.
