As many know I have played many tennis matches like this. I have been on both sides of this...the guts and heart these girls showed yesterday is not only a tribute to their coach and themselves..but to every sports fan out there.

We were way down in the singles. Losing 5 of the 6 first sets and several were all but done in the 2nd. Somehow these girls dug deep within their souls and never gave up and showed the Gator Nation what pride in sports is all about.

We had Stanford on the ropes, they were wounded, down 5-4 in the final set of the final match...just 2 points away from a National Championship. We just couldn't find that knock out punch at the very end.

Give Stanford credit, they too didn't give up. This was 2 heavy weight fighters going toe to toe and slugging it out. Neither team to a player backed away from the other.

At the end of the day all you can do is shake hands and hold you heads high Gators. You made the Gator Nation damn proud. You're all winners, you gave it every thing you had, it was ALL LEFT on those courts in Athens. That is all any coach or fans can ask.

Congrats Stanford...you earned this Championshop.
