"OK... Gator outlook for 2010" |
|
CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT as might be written by Nole, Dawg, Bama and USCw fans...
OFFENSE
QB - Untested first time starter who barely sniffed the field in mop up duty. Showed his inability and lack of desire by being a clipboard holder for the past three years. His backups? Don't ask, it only gets worse. GRADE: Incomplete
RB - A track guy who FSU passed on, a guy who couldn't make a go of it at USC, and another kid who only saw backup minutes and couldn't avoid getting hurt even then. Oh, and some freshman. GRADE: D+
TE - A former QB, a former WR, a former DL and a couple of freshman. None of whom have ever caught a pass from that position in a game at UF. GRADE: F
WR - 14 guys who have combined for 12 TDs and 1100 yards in their combined careers.. Suffice it to say that the second leading reception leader returning is a converted RB. GRADE: C-
OL - Bunch of old guys who weren't good enough to go pro early and a bunch of other guys who weren't good enough to beat them out. GRADE: C
K - Adequate. GRADE: C DEFENSE DL - A bunch of journeymen tackles known more for taking up space than making plays. At end there are a slew of unproven freshmen and a few old guys who were backups to younger guys that moved on before them. GRADE: D+
LB - Undersized veterans on the outside, inexperienced players on the inside. GRADE: C DB - One starter at CB coming off a sophomore slump, the other CB slot to be filled by committee. The strong safety was demoted last year and is undersized, the free safety is a junior who has started all of 5 games. GRADE: D P - Adequate. GRADE: C Coaching - Head coach is a guy who quit on the team before last year's bowl game. Health issues a big concern. Many new assistants filling in for guys who moved on and up to better positions. GRADE: D OUTLOOK: The Gators face UT, FSU, and Alabama on the road, each a guaranteed loss. Georgia is due for a win in Jax. LSU and South Carolina are probable losses at home. USF will be fired up to play and beat the instate big brother and MSU is gunning for the Gators because they designated them the homecoming opponent. Kentucky has the equivalent of an off week before playing Florida. Appy State beat Michigan at Michigan, nuff said. Only Vandy and Miami of Ohio look like probable wins, although Miami did hold Cincinnati to fewer points than the Gators did last year. The potential for a 2-10 season is there, but I'll give Florida the benefit of the doubt and assume they'll pull a couple of upsets and bring home a 5-7 record.
