"why georgia will NEVER fire, and shouldn't fire, Markt Richt"

CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN:
END OF CONTEXT

We're seeing and some are posting a lot of speculation that UGa head coach Markt Richt is "in trouble" or "on the hot seat.;"  yet, nothing ought to be further from the truth.

The fact is, Georgia has NEVER been a consistent challenger for the national championship of college football, and Richt's achievement of 2 SEC titles in the '00s rates him as tied for UGa's second best decade of football EVER.  They went 20 years without an SEC title before he took them back to the mountaintop in 2002, why would they fire him now?  They shouldn't- because historically, the mountaintop for UGa is winning one or two SEC titles in a decade, and nothing more.  Whatever fools in the media are putting forth some rumor that Richt is in trouble over not winning the SEC very often or not competing for the MNC simply do not know their facts.

The truth is, if not for the presence of Hershel Walker in the 80's, who some consider the greatest SEC player of alltime, UGa would still have ZERO national titles (and, even with Hershel, the one MNC they did receive was dependent on the mother-of-all-fluke-finishes win over UF in the famous 'run lindsey run' game).

Thus, when you look at Georgia's history, they churn out wins but really have traditionally presented no threat on the national stage, and at their height managed to win on average at best one or two SEC titles in a particular decade, nothing more.  Richt is therefore an overachieving coach in the context of Georgia's history.  There is no historical or rational basis for Georgia fans to expect more than what Richt has delivered, and given that they are mangy redneck dawgs they frankly deserve far less than what Richt has delivered.

Two SEC titles in the last 8 years far exceeds Georgia's rightful place in the SEC and college football heirarchy...
