as they pyschoanalize our head coach ---declare he's "lost his fire"---should be thanked for his contributions and allowed to live out his life in peace---or whatever rash conclusions one reaches in the aftemath of a string of disappointing games...

On the human side of things, this has been one rough year for the head coach..thankfully, his health issues seem to have been worked out...to me, I don't get this "his sideline demeanor has changed" as he looked pretty damn demonstrative to me during the LSU game...I don't know if SOS ever tossed his visor 20 feet in the air as I saw Meyer send his headset into the sky on Saturday....perhaps this transition year is finding that balance of hands on and hands off...at any rate...

My main point is that we make quite a deal over preferring Meyer because of his family approach, his involvement in the kids' lives...his investment in the school (the Fight Song, the Gator Walk, the whole college deal)...and that we didn't go out and hire a "mercenary" like Nick Saban...well, if we mean that, then don't we owe a coach that's been 26-2 the past two seasons a little adjustment period?  My money is on Meyer figuring it out....but the hysteria is a more than a little disturbing.

I can tell you I have been on the Gamecock Forum many times over the years SOS has been there...loast his fire...not into it anymore...folks have figured out his scheme...washed up....and those were some of the milder things that have been said...but I bet after last Saturday (six years in the making!) those same folks were rejoicing in the biggest win they've ever had....just something to think about...
