Our Swedish exchange student from a couple of years ago is back here visiting right now. He is headed to Tallahassee this weekend with friends for an event at FAMU. I told him to be careful in Tallahassee, since the place was rotten with noles. His response was "Yes, we'll be especially careful to avoid the Seminole axe gesture." For a moment, I was tempted to explain that the term was "tomahawk chop," but instead, I've decided to adopt his terminology myself and refer to it from now on as the "Seminole axe gesture." I encourage you all to do the same.
