job at Florida, I have visited that site that was created to rip on coach Meyer (I don't want to even post it's name)---supposedly set up by a Florida fan (smells like a rival troll to me).

I have posted under many aliases there, not because of any identity worries, but because I visited so little that almost everytime I did I had to re-register since I forgot by username and login.

Those who have visited that sight know that there is one poster who has continually bagged on Meyer more than any other poster. This same poster changed his argument on a yearly basis. From the "he only won because of Zook's players and once Tebow took over the program would fall of the face of the earth", to "it was clear that it is only because Tebow was so great that Meyer was able to win".

After Meyer quit, I decided to return to this troll site just for fun. Even though I know that any response I give is simply feeding the trolls, I still do it, as I like to see what moronic angle this particular poster can take to try to paint Meyer in a negative light.

Tonight I visited this site, and the most recent post was once again by the poster in question.

"It’s now pretty clear that Meyer was overrated.

If not for the good fortune of all those Zook players and Tebow choosing Florida over Alabama at the last minute, he’d have won nothing."

I decided to write my last post on that site, and will end this post with it pasted at the bottom. I post it not because it is anything special, because when it comes to the written word most on this board could run circles around me. I post it here only because while writing my sarcastic response, I couldn't help but remember all the great things Meyer had accomplished. 10 years, 2 national titles, 4 BCS wins, 6-1 in bowl games, turned around 3 different programs. He definitely wasn't perfect, but nobody, and I mean nobody gets that damn lucky.

I appreciate Meyer so much for what he did at Utah. I mean let's be honest, without the standard Meyer set the Utes would not be entering the Pac-12 next season. I also know most here appreciate him for what he did at Florida.

And truthfully, the thing I am most thankful about with regard to coach Meyer, is that he left for Florida. Honestly, as pathetic as it sounds, the VS has been a big part of my life these past years. Whether it was scrapping with Native and Chill in the lounge (I love ya'll), or even mixing words about the 08 Gators and Utes with Mud on Wayne's board, it has been a treat.

I have posted on many message boards, and this one is unique. I can honestly say that I respect all the regular posters here and consider them my friends, even if we have mixed words.

Meyer is leaving Florida, and I am sure to the boards dismay, I have not even thought twice about leaving the VS. I hope you can deal with this Ute continuing to drop by once in awhile.

So with that said, I hope everyone is having a safe and Happy Holiday season. You are all my friends, and I consider it a blessing that in search for Urban Meyer news, I found this site late in the year of 04.

Happy Holidays and have a Happy New Year!

Oh yeah, here is my response to that poster on that other site. Again, nothing great, but the process of writing it got me thinking about my friends on the Mudduck network.

"Yes, of course he was overratted.

I mean he was only 3 for 3 in turning around programs.

For hells sake he only won 4 BCS bowls. I am sure there are dozens of coaches that have won 4 BCS bowls in 10 years of coaching.

And please, only 2 national championships? Who cares if that is twice as many as Florida had won in the previous 100 years of football, it is still crappy. Yep, I can probably name two dozen coaches that have won that many in 10 years as a head coach...

6-1 in bowl games. Pathetic! What a joke Urban Meyer is.

Bowling Green was a powerhouse when Meyer got there. I mean when people talk about football in Ohio, it is Bowling Green and then Ohio State in a distant second. What coach couldn't win at Bowling Green?

And don't get me started on his time at Utah. I mean just because his team was the first team to bust the BCS, is no reason to give him props. I mean Utah may have only been ranked twice in the 100+ years before Meyer's arrival, but that says little. Just because he matched in two years the number of top 25 finishes that Utah had in the previous 100 years of football is no reason to give the man props. Everyone who knows anything about football knows that Utah was a sleeping giant.

At the end of the day just because Bowling Green, Utah, and Florida had some of their best seasons under Meyer, is no reason to give the man props. Only an idiot would.

You are so perceptive. I remember after the 06 championship how you said the Florida program would falter once Tebow took over. But you have proven yourself to be open minded enough to admit that you were wrong and realize that if Florida remained good with Tebow running the show, it was obviously because you underestimated Tebow. Not because Meyer was a good coach. Because he clearly wasn't.

I do feel bad though, because Spurrier is obviously showing his age. Sometimes he slips and says things that are obviously a sign of dementia. For instance, him saying that Meyer would go down as "one of the greatest coaches in college football history", was clearly a sign of someone who has momentary lapses caused by old age. I am thankful that you are here to help us differentiate between the sane Spurrier moments, and the moments when dementia has set in. Just because the only time you quote Spurrier is when he says something that could be taken in a context that makes Florida look bad, does not mean you have an agenda. I for one appreciate the effort and citizenry on your part. Thank you!

And did you see Meyer at half time during the Vegas Bowl? What a slime ball! He was obviously being sarcastic when he was making all those fantastic comments about the university and Florida in general. What a snake, unfortunately I am afraid that most don't have your keen eye, and will probably buy what he is selling hook line and sinker.

And that's why I am thankful you are here. Meyer is no longer the coach of Florida, yet you remain vigilant in exposing this evil monstrosity to the world. I am so thankful for that, and want you to know that you have an ally who will always have your back.

However, I don't know if I have the courage that you and the board owner have. To continue to post these attacks anonymously from the internet takes great courage. To know that you will never get recognition for your words, is so selfless. It is obvious that you are people of great character. I pray for the two of yours safety every night.

God Bless You and ########.com!"
