"Memorable game, great all-time Gator team" |
|
CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT Mud said it best and said the phrase that dominates my brain when I watch these guys, "Love this team." This was a classic Tecmo "no win" game, when the CPU would cheat, cause everything to go wrong for them, and everything to go right for themselves, with UCLA and company playing the role of the CPU. But, as this team has done since the calendar switched to 2011, nothing got them out of doing everything the right way, even resisting the urge (they had to feel this, right?) to bark at the officials, get nasty after Smith's too-casually errant foot sent KB to the locker room, or downright force things when UCLA kept pounding away. So this is what a seasoned, savvy team is like. It's something for folks to remember when they try to go at Billy again. When all those starters and experience left, and then others couldn't even get to that point in their Gator careers before they left, too, we simply didn't have the experience to be this kind of team, Billy's kind of team. And here we are, again. You can't bribe the smile off my face. We're there. Couldn't be more proud of this team and, while I concur with most that believe that simply making the Sweet 16 is satisfying, I want this team to go further to reward themselves and the coaches for playing the game the "right way" (which is another way of arrogantly saying "my way', but oh well) and making anyone who has ever worn the Orange and Blue proud. Thank you, Gators! New Orleans, here they come! |
