CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT This will be my last post for awhile. But please keep my wife and I and our other two sons in your prayers. My oldest son and two of his fraternity pledge brothers were killed in a car wreck this morning on their way back to Oxford to attend church with their pledge brothers. They had come home yesterday afternoon to surprise us. We got to watch one last Ole Miss football game together last night. My wife and I got to spend one last night with him. He and his friends had gone to a party at another friends house after the game last night -- so they had gotten to see a lot of their friends one last time. I got up this morning and cooked him breakfast. His roommate called a little after 7 a..m. as he was pulling up in our driveway. We hugged. He told me he loved me. I told him I loved him. I walked outside and spoke to his roommate as my son put his clothes I had washed for him in the trunk and hung some shirts up in the back seat. I told them goodbye and to be careful and we'd see in the Grove in a couple of weeks. At the end of church this morning, one of our staff members and a member of the Madison Police Department asked us to please come with them. I had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. When we arrived in the chapel, his roommate's family was already in there crying. I thought to myself, "please let them be in the hospital in Grenada." The officer informed us there had been an accident, and all three were pronounced dead at the scene. I am at a loss. But God allowed us to watch one last Ole Miss game together. There was a prayer service at the KA Fraternity House at Ole Miss tonight. We were told over 700 people attended, and that 50 people committed their lives to Christ.
