"Thanks for that, my Dad was my mom's caregiver until she passed this summer" |
CONTEXT ADDED BY ADMIN: END OF CONTEXT As he said they had 56 great years together and two tough ones at the end when her Alzheimers progressed to the point she could no longer walk or communicate. My sisters and I helped and visited often and he had Hospice and a nurse coming in during the day, but my dad insisted on doing most of the bathing, feeding etc. He read to her every night, he held her hand when she passed. He fought in Okinawa and Leyte, he built his own business, he put three kids through college. But how he cared for my mother at the end will be how I remember him the most. |
