"It has been a while, not that anyone notices little ole me..."

since I have posted. I have not been on any self-imposed sabatical or anything like that. I obtained a new job in November and it is keeping me busy. This time of year on top of work I officiate travel volleyball. Knees can't take it behind the plate in baseball anymore. So needless to say I have had trouble keeping up with the goings on here.

I just hope everyone here has been saying what a great coach we have in Billy Donovan. I thought this team would make that Sweet 16 before the season started but that was about it. Then Yueget got hurt and the team faded bad, even though it was good effort. So Casey Prather and Erik Murphy can play ball! Wool!!

I also see we beat Ohio State againUndecided This time in conference lacrosse action. Coach O'Leary might be a keeper.

Slipped across the street and saw that the softball team is pretty damn good even with our best hitter out with a  broken face or something. Might want to retain Coach Walton.

Took little walk across campus and noticed that we have a pretty good triple a baseball team playing at McKiethan and they haven't lost a series all year. They have lost two games, we might have to keep an eye on O'Sullivan if his team drops the ball again.

Between innings I looked over the stadium wall at the track and I think another track championship banner was being raised for the indoor champs. Thanks Coach Holloway.

Did I hear we just won the toughest gymnastics conference in the country? I think I like RhondaCool

I see Coach Butler's lady hoopsters made it back to the dance and won a game. What was thier prize? Facing the overall #1 seed (for the second time in a row in the NCAA tournament). That program looks like it may be getting back on track.

Coach Jackson and Thornquist have tennis rolling right along. That i a fun sport to watch in person. You should try it.

You know what? I think I'll send a thank you to Jeremy Foley.

Having a clear faith, based on the creed of the church, is often labeled today as a fundamentalism. We are moving towards a dictatorship of relativism, which does not recognize anything as definitive and has as its highest value one's own ego and one 's own desires.-Pope Benedict XVI

THE YOUNG DEAD SOLDIERS DO NOT SPEAK

Nevertheless they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them?

They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts.

They say, We were young. We have died. Remember us.

They say, We have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done.

They say, We have given our lives but until it is finished no one can know what our lives gave.

They say, Our deaths are not ours: they are yours: they will mean what you make them.

They say, Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say: it is you who must say this.

They say, We leave you our deaths: give them their meaning: given them an end to the war and a true peace: give them a victory that ends the war and a peace afterwards: give them their meaning.

We were young, they say. We have died. Remember us.
