quite a few folks who make the choice to continue to live on the dole, take their kid for a speech screening, get a check to cover, and never bring the kid back for help again. I'll show you the ones at the bus stop hair rolled up and in PJ's that go back to bed until daycare, ie public school, lets out and they have to get up and find it their right to live the way thewy do, iow it's owed..

I can speak for many other VS poasters who believe you misconstrue their points.  Certainly you can argue that you understand very well and that you purposely distort, even lie.  I choose not to assert malice on your part, but feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.  I believe the old saying, "Never attribute to malice anything that is adequately explained by incompetence."

Since you can't understand people on the VS who try to explain themselves to you, I have to believe that you don't understand the thoughts and intentions of people with whom you've never spoken and who probably would have nothing to do with you.

Am I wrong that when you describe these people, the, "quite a few folks who make the choice to continue to live on the dole...," you simply are reading their minds?  Maybe you've overheard them in the grocery store checkout line where they were buying steaks with Food Stamps, while you had to eat generic peanut butter and day-old bread.  Maybe you do have a special charm and can convince people whom you despise to share their deepest thoughts with you.  Try to convince me of that one.

Now, I will assert that I have spoken to hundreds of people who get one form of welfare or another.  I'll assert that not a single one has said anything similar to what you describe.  Many of them are on the margins of humanity, with low intellectual levels- to the point of retardation- or with substance addiction, mental illness and a long list of other flaws.  I've found that the more that a person has flaws of that nature, the less likely they are to have the sort of motives you attribute to them and the less likely they are to have the capacity to develop the evil plans that you imagine.

Your insulting rant is familiar to me, as well.  I've heard it from people who aren't eligible for welfare complaining about people who are.  They say, "Those people are bad and don't deserve it.  I'm the one who out to get it."  Often they'll toss in a racial slur, but not always.  In your case, you didn't argue that you deserve it, just that they don't.  Were you holding back?

It's because you have so little understanding of the real nature of the welfare population that I doubt you ever have had a real conversation.  We both are making generalizations, but I know that mine are reasonably accurate.
