"We are the Boys, the Alma Mater, yada yada yada"

Everyone will steer you to the tried and true traditions. But if you seek something a little different I have a few for you to think about sampling. You need to start it out right with these suggestions: Burger and beer at Cafe Gardens. Wings and beer at the Swamp. Just beer at balls. Beer with a beer chaser at location of your choice. Tailgating beer and other oddities like Jagermeister, jello shots, Maker's Mark, martinis' etc. Then don't miss Gator DJ's "Finding Of The Parking Spot". It begins roughly three days before the game. While not high on the excitement meter it does act as one of the earliest harbingers of the game to come. A can't miss is the reading of JimmyV's always objective pre-game post. If you make a tailgate keep your eyes open for the difficult to catch "Coach Tony's Handshake and I'm Gone" drive by tailgating visit. More of a psychological case study than an actual participatory event - GatorCane's violent and abusive inner dialogue (only before UF/UM games). Slightly similar to Where's Waldo, you can enjoy ATLGATOR's "Who is this Bud Guy and Where is Mud?" One event that carries hope which is never realized is Chipola Gator's futile search for someone, anyone, that he doesn't know already. For those that are strong of heart, sturdy of leg and equipped with world class hiking boots there's Flea's circumnavigation of the UF campus and points beyond. Lewis and Clark went on a morning stroll compared to a walkabout with Flea. Although in fairness it must be noted that he also is the originator of the ever popular and much more enjoyable, "Get a poster shown on Gameday that says, 'WIZE CHECK YOUR E-MAIL'" tradition. RT's visiting of the in-laws. SwampGas's "Gizmo and Gadget symposium". You will learn of things you never knew existed and which you can't live without. Either PontifiGator's or UFNY's "I remember when Gainesville was..." homeboy oratory. SwampWoman and SmartAlec Gator's post game folding of the tent (literally and only at the Florida/Georgia game and only after a unreasonable quantity of alcohol has been conmsumed). Mud's amazing appearing/disappearing tailgating visit. Now you don't see him and now you don't see him again. g74's "Knotting of the Dreads" (ok, he only did it once so it's not yet a tradition, but we still have hope). Rum's "Crossing of the Avenue", most likely in search of drinks, Bacardi girls, or just someone he can bring back to the tailgate to argue politics with g74. The "Dishing of the Dirt on Swamp Woman" from lizardluvr. BabySister's cooking of the gumbo, followed by the storing of the coolers. GR82B's orange and blue martinis followed with beer chasers. And food if you're still standing. Some traditions have faded away or are undergoing change: Banana Man Passing coeds up the stands Taunting of the Aubies Skow's claiming of the first table at the Porpoise. But they are sure to be reborn in some fashion or another. And finally there's one tradition we hope to see again as soon as is humanly possible: Orange and Brew's "Mocking of The Bobby" imitation. Whatever you do, ENJOY!
