I think foreign policy and tactics are way more nuanced than any op ed.  Seems like we all agreed we were in a War on Terror.  So if its a war, you kill the terrorists.  If you capture them, you give them Geneva Convention protections.  But in a war, people are killed whether by a drone attack or a rifle.  Once captured, the rules change - some have thought that is hypocritical.

As for Syria, many believe military intervention makes things worse.  Each situation is different and I assume that daily briefings and discussions with people who know the difference between Libya, Egypt, Syria, and Iran come up with plans that are situationally specific.  Hindsight might provide a different decision, but you do the best with what you have.  You can blame Obama, but I really doubt Obama is drastically going against State Dept, Pentagon, and expert advice on these matters.  I just don't believe its as simple as...we flew planes in Libya so therefore we are two faced for not flying planes in Syria.   

The whole world is a battle ground into which Obama can send a drone out to kill anyone . . . including US Citizens . . . It is so nice that the liberals are ok with this as long as it is Obama pulling the trigger.  And it is so nice that Swampy is concerned now that it is NOT Bush doing it.  The war on "terror" . . . a tactic . . . exactly when is such a war over?  When the President deems it is over . . . or when a republican wins the WH?  We used to believe in limits on war . . . only Congress could send us into such things . . . that geography limited such things . . . that citizens could not be simply placed on a list with no due process and have rained missiles down on them and their 16 year old sons . . . well goodbye to all that.  All it takes now is the President to find anyone he wants anywhere in the world and pulls the trigger . . . they must have been a terrorist they made his list didn't they?  . . . and since we are at war with this tactic they must be guilty . . . and dead . . . GOD BLESS AMERICA.  Yes it is nuanced . . . Liberal pulling trigger on US Citizens . . .  well DA POTUS must have thought it through and that bastard should not have been a terrorist.  And as long as Obama rains missiles down on them and does not capture them he cannot be held to a due process standard . . . but if Bush captures some well they get due process.  Nuanced!
