Who is the better fan?

Interesting question from other discussions....is a fan better or ultimately more loyal if he withholds his support or expresses his dissatisfaction with a coaching regime he has no confidence in - so as to put pressure on the AD to make a change, or is a fan better if he puts his head down, grits his teeth and gives unconditional support regardless of wins and losses?  Honestly, I think its the former but I can see arguments for both sides.

Argument 1: if you don't support the coach even when things look bad then you help make his failure a self fulfilling prophesy (ie hurt recruiting, reduced fan support in the stadium leading to players not being as inspired or having a negative attitude, put pressure on the AD to pull the trigger sooner)

Argument 2: If you do blindly support a coach who isn't getting it done and whom you don't think can get it done then you just prolong the agony and help him continue the program's mediocrity/suckitude when a better coach would make things better.  Everybody should feel the pressure to perform at all times, Coaches and AD's as much as players.

What say you?

Argument 3) The better fan supports the team and the players, not necessarily the coach. I think we are kidding ourselves if we, as Internet pontificators, think our support of the coach makes diddly squat toawrds his success. What we CAN do is support these young college age players, go to thegames and cheer for them if we are able. (I hate that is is the first year since 1978 that I do not have season tickets of some sort or other, I just can't justify it financially or healthwise at this year.)

My perspective on Muschamp is that, yes, there are a lot of things that need correcting on the team and fingers can be pointed at the coaching staff as to why they are still problems. BUT:

He inherited a mess from Meyer. He had a divided roster, lack of discipline among players and he was given a first year OC who apparently just mailed it in last year. I think he needs more time than Zook was given to straighten this out. Four or five years at least. His recruiting appears to be strong, and judging by that he is building a good foundation. I really do not expect much until next year and will be pleasantly surprised if we get 8 wins or more this year.
