I know you were going for a play on words, but I do think people have a misconception of the splendors of welfare. Do you know how many people in this country go hungry every day? We don't fix that with top down economics. Results demonstrate that it doesn't work. ============================== I'm VERY familiar with lower income families. Guilting me isn't going to work at all. It comes down to two approaches: 1) Give poor people what they need. This creates dependency and the needs never, ever decrease. 2) Give poor people opportunities to better their lives themselves. This creates self-sufficiency and the needs go down. I will always choose #2. |
