...now that I'm over the initial disappointment.
1) The defense is beyond legit. 6 turnovers and held to 17 points, and this is a potent offense.
2) Red zone offense was the killer. 3 times inside the UGA 10 (including Reed's fumble), and 3 points out of it. Not gonna get it done.
3) Nobody considered Jarvis Jones' return. The guy is a difference maker and he showed it yesterday. Without him, Gators win.
4) Proud of the effort. Effective drive to tie the game only to be hit by the TO bug one last time. No quit in this team.
My biggest problem play call of the day was at the end of the half. You have 20 or so seconds and a timeout remaining. Why not run from the 5? If you don't make it, call timeout and kick the FG to take a lead.
What's killing me is that they beat us at our own game. They matched or beat us physically and caused turnovers.
Even with all the mistakes, though, we had a legitimate shot to pull it out. Yeah, we all hate losing to UGA, and it really sucks for those of us in the Atlanta area, but now we move on. Plenty to play for and still an outside shot of making the SECCG. I honestly think 3 top 10 teams in 4 weeks took its emotional and physical toll, and it manifested in spades yesterday.
