"I think the reason Florida has managed him so conservatively was not Jeff so much," Danielson said. "Their inability to be effective pass blockers really scared the heck out of Florida.
"Now, that doesn't mean [Driskel] played great against Georgia," Danielson continued. "But he was just part of the problem.
"And to be honest, they don't have a star wide receiver either."
Added together, Florida's deficiencies in the passing game have forced Mushamp and his staff to rely on defense, field position and ball control to win games.
But there were signs of hope during Florida's final drive, which ended with tight end Jordan Reed's fumble into the end zone. Driskel was 4 of 4 passing for 36 yards and ran six yards for a first down as the Gators drove 69 yards in nine plays.
"I thought Jeff acquitted himself well," Danielson said. "He made some mistakes. That happens.
"I think he has a brilliant future."
