"you'd do better to bitch about the offensive line, first."

This is who we are....

seems to be the Muschamp mantra. When is the last time you have heard a head coach say we stink on offense and this is as good as it gets. What does this say to the players on offense? You can't get any better? You stink? Look i realize we are not an offensive powerhouse, but come on. You give a innovative offense coordinator this group of players and they would find a way to be more productive and exciting. Most fans i talk to in my section are really frustrated with the offensive product on the field and readily admit that coming to the games just doesn't seem to be that fun. We are 9-1 because of the defense period. Yesterdays game and next week were opportunities to gain some offensive momentum, especially in the passing game. That doesn't look likely to happen. We will not recruit NFL offensive players overnight, in the meantime, someone needs to be a little more innovative with the players we have. If that coach or coaches aren't here now, we need to find them.

you can draw up innovative PS3 stuff until your ass hurts from sitting on the couch, but if you can't block 3 to 4 DLmen with 5 OLmen, then it doesn't matter how pretty it looks on paper.  Hold this staff accountable for our regression on the OL, IMO, b/c that is where the issues start.  Football coaches are strange in that they typically try to give their team the best shot to win BEFORE trying to wow fans with pretty, offensive eyecandy football (laynie queefin not withstanding - what is usc's record and ranking??).  I think muschamp and pease realize we can't block a lick up front, so we better run it, limit possessions, play really good defense and special teams and win win win.  You go to the games, so surely you saw what I saw live, right??- the route schemes are good, we routinely get receivers open in all parts of the field.  I'm sure you also saw how defenses play us - they play 8 or more up close with tight corners, a safety down and they dog the LB's in a run blitz on 1st and 2nd b/c they will either stop our inside running game if we don't gash them, or they'll get a sack or hurry if we try to pass it.  You saw this, yes?  You can only zone read/option so many times, and now maybe we can't at all.  I'm sure you also saw how much different our passing game looks at the end of games when teams we've played have gone to more of a vanilla cover-2 look and our QBs have had more than 1.4 seconds to look down the field, yes?

I personally finad it hard to criticize this staff right now, when they have cobbled together 9 wins in a season that many thought we'd be doing good to win 7.  We're going to be 10-2 at worst.  I sure do want to see more exciting offensive football, but more than that, I want to see us start to dominate on the OL again, b/c I know that when we start to do that, anything they want to run will be effective.
