Message Replied To ========== Remaining alive and causing hell, true Taking over the most powerful government in the world . . . I've yet to see them do that. I understand completely what Wayne is saying and the fact of the matter is that none of us is likely to ever find out what would happen if US citizens openly started an armed rebellion against their government. But I can find no way one could rationally expect US citizens to overtake the full force of the US military. There has never been a set of longer odds in military history. ============================== Our full military, united, against a few million lightly armed citizens, would not seem to be much of a fight. But, what if it wasn't the full military? What if it was only one rogue segment of the military, and we only needed to hold out until we got reinforcements? What if some of the soldiers really questioned what their leaders were asking them to do, and threw down their weapons at the first sign of resistance. What if you are defending yourself against a foreign invasion force that has managed to defeat our military in battle? I could go on forever, but the point is we have no idea what the future holds for citizens in 50, or 100 years, or what they might be fighting for. I don't want to be the generation that robbed them of their individal right to defend their freedom. |
