quiet in the Hump household.  I have been up for an hour or so enjoying the fire. I shudder that all this wonder will be soon shattered by waves of little people, family, friends, in-laws, outlaws and general hangers on encroaching on my tranquility . The day kick starts with breakfast for the wife's family around 9 AM. My kids start arriving with the first wave of grandkids about 11 AM. Then more of my bride's family plus their entourage of kids seeking yet more presents.....they will find them too. Then the family of my late wife and my bride's late husband begin to arrive. My peaceful castle is about to dissolve into utter chaos. Lunch will find around sixty or so half starved relatives devouring tons of my groceries and seeing whom they might be able to piss off this year. I dread the Christmas orgy of presents, wrapping paper, empty glasses, bits of food spilled all over the house. After the mounds of desserts have been consumed the scene shifts to an army of half crazed rug rats on massive sugar highs running through the house trying to break each other's toys and my stuff.

Christmas at Hump's is sorta like the VS.....early morning quiet, shattered by people, some you like some not so much, all co-mingling and doing their own things under a common bond of " family. " On this blessed day of days most of them remember the true meaning of the occasion. Thank the Lord most of them are Gators, a few are misguided. Like the VS they all stick together and generally enjoy one another.
