"Watching Romo last night - LOL..... he's like the anti-Tebow." |
|
Romo is a hell of a passer. Really, he is. He makes some throws that are just ridiculously good. He's a gamer, too - you can tell he wants to win. BUT.... for all the physical tools he has, guy is a loser with no ability to will his team to a win when it really counts. He is nowhere near being a real leader. As much as Tebow is what he is, Romo is what is he is, too (and he's had a lot more time to prove it) - Romo is a marginally better Jeff George on a team with tons of talent. Three turnovers last night in what amounted to a playoff game - all 3 of them just plain BAD, and yet, he continues to start for one of the most recongnizable and wealthiest NFL teams in the league. And yet, guys like Coliln Cowherd go out of their way to talk aboot how GREAT Tony Romo is and how terrible Tim Tebow is. On the other hand, you have a guy like Tim Tebow, who when given the chance, has won everywhere and just about everything there is to win. [Sidebar: I am not convinced that Tim can be a concistently successful QB in the NFL] You watch what Shannahan has done with a limited RGIII (couldn't explode last night in the runing game like he normally does), a great "hog-esque" running game, some timely passing and a solid D, and you wonder why someone won't at least give Tim a legitmate chance to play this game and use what he has in terms of leadership and clutch ability - these are things you CAN'T coach! Are we really saying we'd rather have a guy like Romo than Tim Tebow? Why does Romo continue to get chance after chance, only to show that he is what he is, but Tebow can't even get that chance? I don't get it!
