I will say this (again), their fans are super nice and gracious. It's like Pleasantville....I mean, with about 8 minutes to go or so when they began flocking to the exits I turned to Intimi and said that I badly wanted to start the "Just Like Football" chant but I just couldn't. He agreed stating that if this were lsu or, anyone else really, we'd have started it without hesitation.

Anywho......

This team is fun to watch. The D is flat out smothering and relentless. Forcing their fans to count backwards from 10 (as the shot clock expired) instead of cheering, more times than I can count, was a true testament to their relentless effort.

I dunno if anyone heard it (I am going to run the tape back on my DVR to see if it was audible) but at around the 14 minute mark left in the 2nd half aTm lined up for a free throw. you could have heard a pin drop. the player begins his shot motion and just as he begins to start his release i yell....

NOONAN!!!!

the ball rattles around the rim and falls to the ground.....

many of the fans in our section laughed and several ags commend me on my effort. I tried again later in the game but came up empty....i blame it on the fact that it was no longer a surprise and that it wasn't nearly as quiet as my previous attempt.

after the game I hollered to Rosario from the 2nd deck (our seats were in the 2nd row of the 2nd deck, right on center court) he heard me and looked up. so we headed down to the floor. we should have headed down with about 5 minutes remaining....but....hind site is 20/20. but I did get a high 5 from Patric Young and Kenny Boynton and my buddy Jeff snapped a photo of me with Murphy (I will post it when he emails it to me). We waited around a while for Billy and some others but no such luck. Boynton stayed out for a very long time and took a lot of photos with some families and little kids. cool to see. as he trotted into the locker room several Gator fans in the area asked him to take care of mizzou this weekend, to which he replied, "I got you" as he cracked a big grin.

I am so glad that the SEC and aTm found a way to make this work. they truly are a great addition and it feels so good to be able to (easily) go see the Gators play, even if only once in a while...

I look forward to more trips to watch the Gators continue the annexation of college station! GO GATORS!
