Te'o is just an immature college kid. More immature than most, sure.

But the responsibility for professionalism lies with the press and Notre Dame's public relations office. They are the adults here. Nobody asked when he last saw his girlfriend? really? She is supposedly been in a bad accident and dying of leukemia and NOBODY inquires when he last visited her? They are shocked that a 20 something year old male is embellishing his stories about his love life? REALLY?

I actually like Notre Dame but they do crap like this all of the time. A couple of years ago the local ND booster club had a fundraiser at one of my friend's houses (my attorney,actually) and had "Rudy" and Lou Holtz there for a dinner "meet and greet". They were pushing for people to get their picture with Ruettinger. They were confused when i refused, and my friend was clueless when I said the guy was a fraud who would soon be exposed. Sure enough, he was arrested for SEC violations that very week..it was not as if this was not common knowledge in the press. But the ND Boosters just looked the other way and still paraded the guy out there.

The Manti Te'o fiasco is just another example of Notre Dame "embellishing" stories about their football program. THEY are the ones who should be embrassed and ashamed more so than Manti, who is just acting like a kid.
