"I have a term for Ray Ray lovers---"Jock sniffers"" |
Message Replied To ========== I guess redemption is out the window for him I'm not a huge Ray Lewis fan, but I just don't understand the absolute hate for him (other than from Steelers, Browns or Bengals fans)============================== Anyway you slice it (pun intended), Ray Lewis is a world class bum. He pled guilty to obstructing justice in a double homicide. At best, he merely lied to prevent law enforcement from investigating a murder. At worst, he committed murder himself. Either way, he was a participant. In addition to the murder, this scripture quoting phoney has 6 children by 4 women, at least one of whom had to take him to court to get him to pay child support. Lewis is a showboat. His stupid dance and celebrations everytime he's within 3 yards of the play is the type of UM thug showmanship that has cheapened the game. His public displays of "faith" are appalling. The Ravens win because he praises God? Yes, Ray Lewis has said that. In Lewis' dim brain, God must be like Santa Claus and he doles out goodies because Ray Lewis now says nice things about God. Lewis is a 37 year old man. Who in the heck is that age and believes that God gives a flying rip about who goes to the Super Bowl? A phony. That's who. And compare how the sports jock media compares a Ray Lewis to say a real good guy like Tim Tebow. Tebow never said anything like "We won because of God." Tim said he gets strength from God but that God does not will one team to win over another. Yet Stephen A Smith and all the Ray-Ray Arse kissers flailed away at Tebow for his public displays of religion, yet give Ray Lewis a free pass and tell us he is a tale of redemption. Hmmmm, what is the difference between Ray Lewis and Tim Tebow? I can't put my finger on it. I can't wait to see Ray Ray on ESPN next year and watch him butcher (pun intended again) the English language as he waxes poetic about "character" and "going to war" in a football game. Welcome to the Thugocracy. The simple fact is that if Ray Lewis couldn't play football, he would be in prison. Because Ray Lewis can play football, we have to deal with the bogus "redemption story." We have to listen to ESPN, etc. talk about the "two sides Ray Lewis" and politely acknowledge that the Ray Lewis story is "complicated", and say "well, who are we to judge?" Horse hockey. Guy is a thug. There is no ambiguity. If people want to see him play, watch away. Enjoy the game Sunday. I'm sitting this SB out. I can't handle watching the Thug Bowl (see also Randy Moss of the 49ers). As for the whole "let you among you who have not sinned cast the first stone" take, that's above my pay grade. Its not my call whether the guy goes to Heaven or not. I would hope, by now, that we're smart enough to know that playing professional football in the NFL is a privilege, a privilege that the same NFL Commissioner who bear hugs Ray Lewis took away from several New Orleans Saints (and their coach) for offenses waaay less severe than what Ray Lewis ADMITTED to doing. |
