"It's more than just football. He's castrating our nation....." |
Message Replied To ========== Now he is castrating our pastime? The hyperbole Jim, you are getting very, very good at it. Maybe you should write for Fox News? I kid, I kid... ;-) But let's dial back the volume a few notches. I realize that you are not fond of the POTUS (putting it mildly), but all he said is that he would give the issue some thought. That his answer was not automatic. Is that really a castration? And while we all know that football is dangerous, we need to understand the dangers. Contrary to your post, we do need both PhDs and MDs studying the risks and ramifications of football in relation to concussions. If we can make the game safer and better identify those who are concussed, then that is to football's advantage. I use the boxing example above and made mention of my grandfather's disorder. Boxing also serves as a good example because IT was once the national pastime. Baseball after that. There is no guarantee that football will always reign supreme. However, I believe that we can keep it on top longer if we make the game safer. I don't take issue with people who want to promote, play, or defend the sport of football (I'm in their rank). I do take issue with the macho hyperbole and over dramatics over what I believe was a very innocuous comment. Sorry Jim, we will have to agree to disagree on this issue. ============================== concerned about football being too dangerous, take guns away from the people, feminize the military, Obama is a lily livered nancy boy. |
