"Booooo!" |
Message Replied To ========== So the Noah/Henderson thread made me wonder.
What if the player does the chomp towards his teammates? Or toward the home crowd (assuming in Gainesville)? Or if he does the chomp toward the visiting crowd? Are there differences in the actions? I believe so. Henderson's actions were taunting, just as the aforementioned player above was taunting in the first example. Personally, doing the other team's "thing" (chomp, chop, "U"), is a no-no in my book. Douchery. Even when "my" guy does it. But I find it equally douchey to use your own team's "thing" in a taunting manner. Of course, I still think booing is a dick move when the other team hits the field/floor. But what is your opinion of the thoughts above? ==============================
I can tell you I've seen other teams' players engaging in premature chompulation VASTLY more than I've seen Gators do it to other teams' fans/players in a taunting fashion or do their cheer in a taunting fashion. Noah is a good example. I get why opposing fans are galled by very demonstrative players, but Noah didn't taunt others. He just showed his excitement in a positive way. Tebow was the same. The bile spewed at both of them was IMO 99.9% due to them both winning big and opposing fans not being able to have any claim to getting the last laugh. Nothing pisses people off more than that.....which just makes me...... |

"I yet believe that the maintenance of the rights and authority reserved to the states and to the people, not only essential to the adjustment and balance of the general system, but the safeguard to the continuance of a free government. I consider it as the chief source of stability to our political system, whereas the consolidation of the states into one vast republic, sure to be aggressive abroad and despotic at home, will be the certain precursor of that ruin which has overwhelmed all those that have preceded it."
