If you are fouled while dribbling towards the basket, if you then at any time within the next 30 seconds, direct the ball towards the basket or otherwise make a motion that could be construed as a shot, the continuation rule is in effect and you will be awarded the basket.
I am still struggling to understand the traveling rule. I think you are allowed to move both pivot feet if you do it really fast. You can also take up to 4 steps toward the basket before shooting or coming to a stop and passing the ball. You have to be a star player, else you get the normal 2 steps.
I also like the rule where you have a throw in after a made basket under the opponents basket and you call timeout. You are then awarded the ball at halfcourt because that position is closer to where you walked to during the timeout.
And if diving for a ball out of bounds, with no hope of catching and landing in bounds, you may move your hands in any manner simulating anything close to a timeout signal and as long as the referee sees your attempt at the signal you get the timeout -- it does not matter that you were standing out of bounds before you actually made such signal.
And finally, a flagrant foul is one in which you mistake the opponents head for the basketball and try to rips it from his grasp.
