Most would look at a span of at least 10 years as reasonable timeframe to judge a current state of the program, so over the last ten years UF was as likely to be an elite eight team as not. Two titles is nice also, 5/10-2. To put that in perspective:

Duke is 3/10-1, Kansas 5/10-1, Kentucky 4/10-1, UNC 6/10-2, Michigan State 3/10-0, Ohio State 3/10-0, Louisville 5/10-1, Syracuse 2/10-0, UCLA 3/10-0, UConn 4/10-2.

I will be shocked if UF is not an EE team in 2014, too.  I truly believe they will be better next year than they have been the last 5 years.  7-5 in the NCAAs before Donovan, 31-11 since his arrival. This is some pretty rarefied air Billy has Gator fans breathing and I really don't think these accomplishments are as respected or enjoyed nearly as much as they should be.  He has put together a solid HOF resume already.  At a football school. Should he stay another 10-15 years at UF he is almost certainly to put up records that will stand more years than most of us will be alive and in fact they may well be untouchable.  The evolution of the college game makes a Wizard of Westwood kind of national legacy likely beyond his and most everyone else's reach, but I'll take the Guru of Gainesville and be damned glad of it.
