Would it have made any kind of real dent in illegal gun sales??? As said below, the cost is moving us toward a national gun registry. I really don't want my address published in the paper, so some criminal can come and steal my gun while I am away at work.==============================

"If we allow better background checks, next will come a gun registry, and then they will come and get my guns".  No one wants your guns.  At least the same majority that wanted the background check legislation enacted doesn't.  You have your guns to protect yourself and to hunt and to feel American with.  So stop being scared of shadows and the boogie man and help do every possible thing to make sure the bad guys have to work harder to get them....even if it barely makes a dent, and by dent, I mean saves a few precious lives.
