Bigotry, prejudice, and mere comparative study are all conflated with racism now. The latter word has lost its meaning. Differences in cultures, which have influenced history (i.e. the Germanic conquest of Rome), can only be discussed underground now for fear of being branded. I prefer opinions offered openly.

But wearing them as a badge of honor, and not trying to evolve past them, is not a good thing as far as I am concerned.
