"Your generation did . . . " |
|
Message Replied To ========== You have to define "paying more". . . A friend of mine, about 60, indicated his premium for he and his wife is now $40,000 a year. That is a problem. It needed to be addressed. He is one of the fortunate few who has the resources to continue to pay the premium. For most in his position they would drop coverage. The projections for people dropping coverage pre Obamacare was unsustainable. That is why the system was broken. You can't put the cost of the health care system on those with pre-existing conditions. Everybody that can afford to has to pay into the system for it to have a chance of success.============================== Your generation was not forced to buy insurance so that those with preexisting conditions would be subsidized. You were allowed to live with the risk at 25 years old if you wished. Your generation allowed the preexistings to fend for themselves as it should be. But now that government has driven the cost of medical care up to extreme proportions you don't want today's youth to be allowed the same ability to live with their risk. |
